I don't know.
About $35,000-$40,000
People are idiots.
No, horrible British reliability
No, not standard. But It was an option.

Not sure why anyone would ever want one of those. Heavy, slow, horrible gas mileage, Jeep knockoff looks, unreliable and expensive.

the Defender 110 is even worse. they supposedly only made 500 of them (or some bullshit like that) and people now think they are worth their weight in gold. New in the early 90's was ~$45k. People want $60k+ now for them....They had rollcages on the outside......probably 2 people took them offroad.

I think they are cool because you don't see them every day and they are simple to work on. Parts are a different story I am sure they are expensive and hard to find. I think the bodies are aluminum. For the price and what you get I would have to pass on it.

Defender 90s are quite popular amongst the more well-to-do off-roading crowd at the moment. They have high resale because they aren't made anymore, but the appeal is that it is essentially a British Jeep. They are quite capable off-road, like just about any Land Rover.

They really aren't a good way to spend 35-45 grand though. All the bad things listed about them may be true, but like a lot of things that are considered unattainable by most, the bad things don't really factor in if it's got the cachet. Judging by resale prices, the thing's got cachet in spades. It's the most image an off-road vehicle has likely ever had, save for perhaps the Hummer H1.

There's been one for sale in the Robb Report magazine for the past year or so.

I'd rather buy a Jeep Wrangler myself.

The bodies were built from aluminim due to the steel shortage during WW2...they were originally designed for farm use.
