Dilemma !
call me crazy, but i'm thinking of trading my s2k for a 2003 350z with an sts remote turbo system on it, i know the guy that has it and i know it's been done right and taken care of, the only issue i have with it....the car scares the crap out of me, i've driven it a few times and the car is a beast, snap oversteer isn't the word to describe it, i know my s like the back of my hand and i know when she's sure footed and when she's about to get squrrly
i want to know what s2k has to say before i make my decision

Will you have enough money afterwards to afford a new engine for the 350z if/when the current one goes? I don't care if it was done right, fact is the engine wasn't built to take that abuse, and if the internals have been replaced then you are on a shorter leash as far as general engine life anyway.
If you are paying below blue book since it is modded, then I suppose its your call. I just went the opposite way recently, trading my crazy modded STI that I built from stock for a stock car just because there was only 5% of the time I got to use it, and the rest of the time I was worried about something breaking or pissed that my modded car was getting crappy MPG and I couldn't open it up in traffic.
All things equal I wouldn't make the trade, unless you really think your car is going to break, in which case you would be an ass for making the trade. Of course if your S2K is already modded to hell then just get what you like more.

my s(2001)has 91k miles, hardtop, v2, and a skunk 2 mega power exhaust the 350z is a 2003 75k miles (about 10k with turbo system) aem stand alone, the engine HAS been gone through, dyno tuned (can't pry numbers from him until deal is done)
i've been knowing the guy for a while, and i know when he does a car he doesn't mess around, i'm guessing he has at least 30k invested in it, i'm not trading i'm buying and selling the s outright, he is asking 25 but i could get it for 20

25k is steep, even 20k for a 03 turbo 350z is too much...
If you are looking for power there are cheaper and more reliable ways to get there. If I was in your position I would pass on the Z just because it's not that new and the mileage is getting up there, and if you are set on selling the s2k then I'd look into other more reliable alternatives for 25k you have a lot of choices that are newer/less mileage/less problematic.

Agreed, at that price you can also look at a C5 z06 which would be a much better performer in my opinion.
