there is ~$16K in options for the M3
M-DCT $2700

premium package $2K
premium audio $2K
19" wheels $1200
winter package $1K (?)
sat and HD radio $1K

the 335i has the same options so you can get one low-$50s (except no premium audio or DCT option).

The M3 Sedan I had on order was almost to the penny $20K more than my 335...while they're are more options on the M to open up the price gap. I'd say in general the M is about $20K more.

You NEED options on M3. If not, you are getting stripped down car with nothing inside. That's how German cars get you, with options. Although the worst is Porsche.

If you look at the write up screen the prices quoted were because of dealer markup, not MSRP.
I was very surprised at the acceleration test. Given that hp was very close, with the 335i being lighter, and the massive torque advantage you would figure off the line it would crush the M3.

Just because Dinan 335i has massive torque over the M3 that doesn't directly mean it will blow out the M3. Massive power, but its depend on how the power is put to the ground.

If you look at the launch they are both relatively even with no tire smoke/spin. It's not like the M3 got a massive jump on the 335i. In that case you would think the car with the massive advantage in tq would have an advantage in off the line acceleration. If it was a rev it up, drop the clutch launch I could understand, but in this case it looks like they just launched normally. In that case the car with the tq advantage should have a big advantage.
