Its a freakin airsoft gun. Please tell me how its dangerous. His claim that the plastic pelets would dent metal and break lights is ridiculous.

if it can't actually damage anything then it isn't really too dangerous... i was going by what he said, that it could cause actual damage to lights/metal.

dear everyone

i DID read the whole thing. i read the paragraph you posted. he still had it installed, and presumably drove with it on the car for at least some small period of time. the button to active it is *on his shifter*... all he has to do is accidentally tap it while driving... yes?

i stand by my statement.
He said he wired a safety on/off before the trigger would activate. It sounded safe enough.

He gets props for creativity, ingenuity, and stupidity but in a good way...

Then you're just being thick-headed and obtuse. There's nothing dangerous about it if he's not going to shoot it at any person or vehicle.

He has a safety on it, and who drives an automatic transmission-equipped car with their hand on the shifter?

You obiously have no idea how powerful an airsoft gun can be.
It can literally make you bleed, or pop an eyeball.

That being said, I don't think the guy is going to use it against other motorists or anything.
It is cool, but I wouldn't post a detailed explanation like that online.

If you watch his video, it shows him pulling the trigger and nothing happens until he disengages the safety (this requires him to toggle a switch with his thumb). I think it'd be hard to accidently disengage the safety and hit the trigger.

You assume the car would be sitting at a stop...forgetting this is a car. I question how powerful/accurate this thing would even be shooting into opposite direction 70 mph winds on the freeway.
