Overrated I disagree. Many BMW models are top performers in their respective categories. Overpriced, perhaps on certain models, the Z4 comes to mind. The new M5 is expensive, I thought MSRP is $75K, not $90K, but it is one bad ass machine. At $50K the M3 is neither overrated or overpriced. You get performance of a 911 Carrera, the luxury of a BMW, for $30K less than a Porsche.
Differences in taste and opinions are what makes the world go round. You and I know that all too well.

I just built an M3 coupe the way I would want it should I buy one. I chose Carbon Black Metallic with Cinnamon leather and Titan Black trim. I added the premium package but left off the cold, added SMG, width adjustable power front seat backrests, heated front seats, xenon lights, and navigation. I added NO accessories on the third page and I'm at $57,670 before TT&L. That's a $60k car and IMO vastly overpriced.

The new M5 definately got the Bangle treatment....nice car, but it's UGLY. It could have and should have been a beautiful machine. When I analized what it is that I didn't like about this car I found it was mostly the tail lights and head lights. They shouldn't wrap around the body like they do.

I think it has a redline of 8250... Which is very impressive for a V10...

There is no doubt that the engine is impressive. However, I am sure that the guy who spends ~90K on this car will love getting smoked all day long by his neighbor's E55 AMG. I would have thought that BMW would have made a car that was at least as fast as the E55. The manfacturer's specs on the M5 have it going 0-60 in 4.7 where as the E55 is ~4.3. We will have to wait and see how it actually does on the street. The Benz is also much better looking IMO.

Where are you guys getting $90K from? I heard MSRP is $75K to $80K.

Personally I can't wait to see the new M6.

That'll be much nicer looking and hopefully a little faster....not that the M5 is slow or anything.
