Drove an M5 yesterday. Wow!!
I have recently driven E46 M3 coupes and cabrios (non-SMGII) but I really preferred the M5. It was a 2000 in a pretty blue (Avus I think) and it was more fun to drive than the M3 for me. Being a less than desireable color (vs silver or black) and being 2 years old and with 20K miles on it, and with some interior wear (obviously no garage queen and probably driven hard) they have reduced the price to only $64,000
Oh well. It would be nice to have it as our family 4-door car to go with the S2K. At least it is nice to have a friend selling used cars at a BMW dealership. Get to drive some fun cars.

They are phenomenal cars, my dad has one. It is very heavy though, it feels much heavier to drive than my car or an E46 M3. It definitely feels faster to me than an E46 M3 though, with which I have driven the M5 back to back.

I enjoyed driving the "Dinan M5" but if anything it reminded me of how much I enjoy driving my SMG M3 more.
The M5 is a fine people carrier but it doesn't carry it's weight well... and even with modified suspension it was too rolly for me.
Now if they will just get their act together and shoe-horn in that V8 into the M3, that'll be the best of both worlds. Order me one in debadged touring form please.

Ford Motor Company has an M5 and two M3s [E46 and E36]. I've driven all three. Impressive isn't she?
Ford also owns a Ferrari 360 Modena. Gotta git me mits on her, too!

The price is now only $63,000!!!
My wife said that a 5 series was too big for her. She likes our 4-door E46 330 sport sedan. Sounds like they won't, but if they build a 4-door E46 M3, I guess I will be allowed to have one.
She likes the S2k too. Although, she keeps looking at me funny when I go over 7500 RPM

If you are into BMW's and specifically the M5 (nice vehicle by the way), you need to find someone with the CD ROM they give to new owners or check there web site for the video's they made. The one called "Super Star" is GREAT!!!! I'm not a big Madonna fan, trust me, but the short video is great and the music fits ssssooo well!
