Havent you ever seen Dub magazine or been to a toy store lately. They have a line of toys called Dubs. Pimped out remote control SUVs with hydros.
As a matter of fact, I used to have a diecast Dubs Escalade that my "secret Santa" at work got me last year.

and the worst part about it all....

they add like 200lbs of extra wheel weight, but still run on stock rotors and calipers. SUV's with 'dubs' on them are nothing but DEATH TRAPS to other people on the road. especially with soccor mom driving, eating, drinking and talking on the cell phone all at once.

then there's the 'no look' lane change that is ever so popular in Texas.

thus part of the reason i drive fast, to get away from all the damn SUV's with 4 foot tall soccor moms driving them.
commuting to and from work, but yet they just HAD to buy an SUV cause they have to 'haul' their kids and junk around? whatever.

BUY A CAR YOU CAN DRIVE AND PARK!!

Absolutely man!!

I saw this accident on the BQE the other night and there was a vehicle flipped over. Of course as I look closer, it's an SUV!! Those things are so dangerous.

I can't stand these extendcab pickup trucks. They are so tremendous compared to normal sized cars. If you want to haul your kids around, get a Subaru or Volvo wagon. Those cars can carry a lot of stuff, have AWD and also have plenty of seating for the kids.

It doesn't help that the car manufacturers are "dumping" these behemoths on the populace. I can bitch a lot more about these houses on wheels but it's too late and I have to get to sleep.

those suv's are dangerous enough already. The 20+ inch rims only make the braking distances LONGER and kill the handling of the car.

It should be MANDATED that if you increase the size of your wheels over 3" you should upgrade the brakes, too.
Damn straight.

Some good news: GM is shutting down their SUV plants in Texas and elsewhere for a few weeks. Demand is finally softening.

I saw an article in either C&D, MT, or R&T about big wheels.

It turns out most of them are not "3C" certified (they have that strange logo on them...it's a 3+c, but merged, it's on the S2000 rim) meaning that they don't meet standards for strength, balance, etc.

GM now makes a 20" wheel that is 3C. The editor drove a vehicle with non-3C aftermarket rims, one with GM 3C dubs, and a stock vehicle. The non-3C SUV drove like garbage, but the rims with 3C certification drove more like stock. I believe that GM will give sufficient brakes to the 20" cars they sell...at least I hope.
