E30 is gone, what's next?
So I'm expecting to get a pretty decent settlement for losing my E30 and so I've decided that I want larger, more comfortable, SAFER, faster daily drivers. Here's the two cars I had in mind:
04 Evo 8: I love Evo's and its ridiculously easy/cheap to make 400 whp on stock turbo with E85 AND to have a great handling, fun, raw car. Especially the Evo 8 RS... this would be the car I drive when I need a fun commute or trip to the beach.
And for those days when I need comfort, quiet, and refinement... a clean E36 M3 coupe (already have one lined up.) Bulletproof engine and trans that I'm very familiar with, good MPG, and ridiculously balanced driving dynamics. One of my favorite cars ever. Would offer a good respite from the 'Evo, f@#k yeah' overload of the Mitsubishi.
Also looking at picking up an E36 M3 with a Corvette swap but thats sort of out of left field and would require a cheap DD.
Thoughts? Opinions? Flames?

I've got a pretty modified e36 m3 sedan dor my daily and it works quite well. The s is for autocross, track days, and nice weekends. The GMW is a cool concept but I think it would be more fun to buy the new twin screw Kenny Bell kit and keep the inline 6. You would have similar hp and tq numbers with the twin screw sound. It's all in what you want to do and how much you want to spend.

Not exactly true... all the clean ones go for $8k+. It is actually quite the challenge to find a nice one. Luckily my friend has an extremely clean one that he's selling me for $5k. I'm sure he could get $9k for it.

low mileage e36m3s used to go for around 14 to 16k just a couple years ago, so feel lucky. the best deal I found was an Estoril 97 vert with clean dove vaders and about 79k on the dash for 11.5 and that's because the guy was getting a divorce, needing cash and this was Vegas... in 08
