Default E34 M5s

Whenever I'm bored, I tend to look around for interesting used cars, and I just found this:

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_...ag=1&cardist=11

right down the road from me. I've always loved these cars, and I know that at some point I'll need something with more room. Anyway, does anyone here have any first-hand experience with these? I'm particularly curious as to whether there are any known, especially expensive problems that are common with the cars (I know it will be more expensive to maintain that the S2000). Thanks.

suspension.

you'll need to change control arms, bushings, etc...every 60,000 miles.

if you're particularly anal, shocks at 100,000 miles....maybe replace the rad if the cooling system hasn't been well maintained.

i know 2 people with E34 M5's and that's all they've had to do.

everything still works, no electrical glitches, etc....

awesome car!

Control arms? Really? Why do they go? Any idea what the tab is for this suspension job? I read somewhere that the later cars have the Nurburgring (I have no idea if I spelled that correctly) suspension with electronic dampers and that this system is known to go on the fritz and costs $4,000 to replace. Any thoughts? Thanks.

E34s are awesome cars, and are quite rare as old M5s go...probably even moreso than the E28 M5. Can't beat a 315hp NA straight-6 like that one.
