Looks good. I'm all for it just for hopes they put a regular engine in the rx8. I love that chassis, but the engine is shit. I doubt it would fit, but give me the mazdaspeed3 engine orientated for rwd in the rx8 chassis and I'd have the perfect car.

I don't know...if we were in a "normal" and stable economy, then hopes would be high, but in THIS worldwide economic gloom, I'm kind of doubtful.

They forgot sketchy reliability too, and before you know who goes on a rampage the article did say that they will make it run cleaner i.e. have better emissions equipment which apparently, accordingly to you know who, is one of the contributing factors of the "wrongful" unreliable perception.
Also, a I4 turbo power rwd coupe doesn't need to be made as the next RX-x, it would just be the new mazdaspeed miata (imagine it with the retractable hardtop).

If it really ends up with those specs, I'd be in line, particularly if it keeps the RX-8's 9000 rpm redline. Its would be like the AP1 successor that we never got...with better steering feel (assuming its like the RX-8, considering that's the one area the RX-8 kills the S2k IMHO).
