The question is would you get the 6 speed paddle shift or the 5 speed manual?

I hate paddle shifts for that sole reason. With these new super fast trannys, paddles give better performance, which everyone loves, but takes away from the driving experience.. so I guess it depends on what matters most to you. Personally, I couldn't give up the stick

Cannot argue with your opinion, but have you tried something like the DSG in the GTI? I have a '07 GTI with DSG as a DD and honestly, that tranny is a very nice compromise. It allows you to sit in stop'n'go traffic comfortably and when you feel like it you can drive like a hooligan and make very rapid progress...

If the Evo X autobox is similar to the VW DSG, then I think I will trade in the GTI very quickly...

THAT THING LOOKS PRETTY AWESOME TO ME.

There is no way it will come that low from the factory..... hopefully it doesn't weigh any more than the current 32XX lbs..... seems like just about every car gets porkier with newer versions, etc...

anyone want to lease my acura for the last 12 months so I can get an evo.

Mitsu is claiming 200lbs more then the last model Evo's.

Should be around the range of 3400lbs...no lightweight, but
the additional hp * not confirmed * should make it up.

200lbs is a bit more than I would have hoped. Then again, mine with the Sun, Sound, and Leather package weighs an even 3300lbs and it still doesn't feel heavy. With a well executed suspension, the extra weight might not even be noticed. On paper 3400lbs is still pretty nasty.

I have driven a DSG equipped GTI, but I didn't push it too hard. It is very nice without a doubt and I certainly see why it gives the best performance and comfort. But perhaps I didn't explain myself well enough. This is the very reason I dislike them I wish they were crappy so I wouldn't be torn between giving up performance for a little more enjoyment in other areas.

I really want to know who made their DSG.

I know i've been saying i'd keep my S, but i still don't mind looking at this. Can't wait to see all the mags test it, especially GRM.
