haha that's pretty much what i said when he said 45k. "You can get a 335 for that." He seems to think that it's a popular car and there will be so few of them coming that they will be able to sell them even at that outrageous price.

you know, he could be bulls**ting but i can see how it could happen. Evo IX MR is $35814 (MSRP+destination). Evo X will be more expensive. Add (say) $2k MSRP difference, $5k dealer markup, and you're in 45k land.
Whoever buys a Evo X for that price is stupid, no one should pay nowhere close to that much for an Evo X.

I'd take this EVO X over the previous ones in a heartbeat.

Seriously, who's going to be Mitsubishi's guinea pig by buying the first batch and pay a markup to be one?
In time the hype will die down, the bugs will be worked out, and most likely will be improved upon.

i agree! i think i d wait a year or even 2 before buying. There are bond to be some first year bugs. there always are with any car I do like what I am reading and seeing with this car. I m hoping that it might be at some of the US auto shows. L.A is next month. I also want to see the new STi.

I'd buy the X if it is available at MSRP or below.

My palms are all sweaty awaiting the new STi. I love the looks of the hatchback and in the end I think it will be a more reliable vehicle over the Evo. I drove an Evo 9 and it was unbelievable in terms of handling but as already stated, the interior quality was so bad I just couldn't justify forking over the cash to buy one. It sounds like Mitsu bumped up the interior quality a bit on this new one though but I will have to wait and see for myself.

All I know is that buyers, muself included are going to have a hell of a time choosing between the 1 series bimmer, the Sti and the Evo.

PS..Sorry Honda, but you dropped the ball on the S2K

Why not get the current STi? Interior is not that bad, low-end torque is supposed to be better, and it's a 6-speed.

I'd like to test drive one myself, but we have a total of one pre-owned STi across three Subaru dealerships in S.D., and their salesmen are uncooperative.

I'm all torn now. I almost committed to buying a 330 ZHP and now I'm thinking that, if STi is anything like Evo, it's a lot more "raw"/energetic/fun to drive like my old S2K, and I can get a new one for about $3k more than a 3yo ZHP... Power seats or Recaro seats, that's the question...

All I know is that buyers, muself included are going to have a hell of a time choosing between the 1 series bimmer, the Sti and the Evo.
myself I probably wouldn't consider any one of these. 1 series bimmer - not enough room and if it's going to be like 335, it'll be even more isolated and muted than even E46 330. Sti - that hatchback is just too weird looking. Evo - not for 45k, thank you very much.
