Almost a 200 lb difference between the two? Wow. STI is the better car this time around for me, not to mention one of the most original designs in awhile. The looks and lesser weight win it for me.

Then more power to the STI and its EJ25 has the aftermarket support over the new 4B11.

Not surprising that the Evo is faster around the track. Steering has always been better in an Evo. I wonder how loose the steering is in the new STI. They've always been in need of desperate tightening. I'm not sure why they won't put in a quicker steering rack; it's awful.

It's pretty embarrassing to have power, weight, and braking power over the Evo and still lose around the track. Sad.

edit: Just noticed it looks like the STI dropped 2 gallons in fuel capacity. Huh.

This is too funny. The new EVO GSR weighs EXACTLY the same as the 335i coupe. 3585lbs. The 335i is faster in every category while getting much better mpg.

0-100mph

EVO GSR- 13.9

SUB STI- 13.3

BMW 335- 12.1

My very unscientific guess for 135i: 11.8 Oh yeah, bimmer for me.

From the review it sounds like the STi handles like crap. It's go an advantage in hp and weight and is a second slower on the track....weird. I would guess both the X and Sti are faster then 1 series though on an actual track!

very disapointing that the STI is not rated well in fun-to-drive.

I think that is what most people are looking for fun and shap handling etc..

I was thinking about going with a STI as a DD, don't mind the price if the car is worth it but as these tests numbers doesn't seem to be worth it.

Incidentally I see people are getting Invoice +$500 deals already on the STI so price should be about $3K less than MSRP. But even still, I like Subaru as a value car but the STI costs $10K more than the WRX with not a lot more features, all I can see is the 6MT, HIDs, different differentials and the extra power. Don't get me wrong that stuff is worth more but going from $25K to $35K is 40% more money.
