A Faster Horse - excellent documentary.
The C5 nearly didn't happen at all

Was a good documentary...interesting how serious it is. You never fully understand what it takes to get a car into production and this was some great insight.

Is Ford right now the Honda of the 90s/early 2000s?
These are very imprecise comparisons but each company developed enthusiast cars in a variety of price points and packages.
Supercar NSX, GT
Affordable sports car S2000, GT350
Hot Hatch Integra Type R, Focus RS
Intro price sporty hatch Civic Si, Fiesta ST

Thank you for creating this thread and making me aware of this documentary. I watched it last night and really enjoyed it.
I wish I could talk myself in to spending $55k on a GT350 (base with track package). They sound absolutely marvelous but I couldn't stomach the depreciation a domestic car at that price point would take on. If it were closer to $45k before TT&L I might just have to pull the trigger.

Its incredible to me how little the actual process of manufacturing cars has not really changed in a very long time; there has to be a better way to develop a car to a prototype stage much faster than what it seems to take today. I do certainly understand the bean counting on 5 cent parts and the heavy weight behind every decision being made. Very good documentary thanks for the recommendation!
