Feedback on CR-V or Rav4
I am thinking about buying either a CR-V or a Rav4. Reasons for buying are that we would like a car with more room for trips here and there w/ comfort, but not something too big that will drink gas.
I do like the Pilot, but maybe it is too big for daily driving.
So I was wondering what your feedbacks were on these cars. Are they reliable and good for DD?
Should I stray away from 100,000 mile suckas?
TIA

I can only speak for CR-V.
My sister owns a 07' CR-V LX and I've driven it extensively.
Pros
- Comfortable, seats are supportive and even the LX cloth seats are good quality.
- Very useful for long trips. Tons of storages, Trunk is big enough.
- Backseats are roomy and can fit 3 adults comfortably. One of the few cars that I wouldn't mind if I don't take shotgun.
- Interior is top-notched, the new gauges Honda has been using look stellar.
- Family friendly.
- Refine for its class.
- Quiet interior.
- Takes bumps quite well.
- Handles like a tall car, secure.
- Enough torque to get up to speed.
- Has been reliable since Dec. 2006, no repairs.
Don't quote me on this but something like 24-25mpg with mix street and highway driving.
Cons
- Not enough engine power for some.
- Decent sound system.
- Other cars in its class or similar price with bigger engines.
I definitely recommend the car but not sure how you'll feel about the engine. It is a carry-over with minor tweaks from last generation. What you'll get is exactly what its made for and top-quality. Definitely not much of a sport-suv. And if you don't care too much for the extras on the EX, the LX can be had cheaply as a DD.

Kind of a toss up in my opinion. Some random observations. While looks are certainly subjective, I still find the exterior of the new CRV too soft and don't care for the downward sloping rear side windows. The interior is far superior to the Rav4. Rav4 is not available stateside with Nav. Rav4 has nice LED tail lights. Rav4 also has the ability to lock the 4 wheel drive system at low speeds where as the Honda does not. Rav4 can be had with almost 100hp more than the CRV when optioned with the v6 but the 4 cylinder Rav4 meant to compete with the CRV still has an old fashioned 4 speed auto. For me, neither of them are perfect but you can't go wrong with either.
my wife had a 07 CR-V EX-L
we loved it
you such test drive both so you can make a solid decision but one think i tell you if you are looking for power get the RAV4 but CR-V its a much complete package
you cant go wrong with the cr-v
