Good God, it's gorgeous! Ferrari can do no wrong.
As long as they keep making their cars look steadily more and more like lamborghinis, no they can't!

It's not all about speed to me... my "exotics" of choice would be:

Carerra GT
Ferrari 360

4.3 to a 5.0? that is a ginormous jump.
Only if you thought 360 to 430 was a ginormous jump.

If it looks like that photo it will continue the downward trend in Ferrari styling. The 360 was a high point, the 430 was a derivative and basically a negative derivative in all aspects. If that is close to the final version, it looks like the 500 will be a 430 that's been boy racered.

BTW, none of what I said applies to how good the car is under the skin. I have no doubt the 430 is better than the 360 under the skin. I'm only talking about visual appeal which in the case of a Ferrari is a big deal.

lulz. "It's not all about speed to me... so I'd like a Carerra GT on account of how slow and tame it is."

I love the look of the 360 and 430. If this looks anything similar, it'll be a winner in my books

If you're talking about looks, then the 360 WAS considered the ugly duckling from Ferrari. It was such a departure from the 355 and previous styles, it was met with a lot of hate. It was designed with aerodynamics in mind vs. pure aesthetics.

I used to feel the same about the 430 the way you did. But after seeing them side, by side, the 430 just made the 360 look dated. Sexy, but still dated aestheticaly. This was further reinforced when Ken Okuyama (chief designer for Pininfarina) pointed out the design differences in our automotive design class.

Looks like they used 430 styling cues on a Gallardo....
