Default FM transmitter for IPOD

Ok, I got an IPOD for xmas, and it's really bugging me that I can't pump it through my car's stereo. I know there are FM transmitters which just broadcast over the airwaves, and some that actually plug into your car stereo's antenna to help the reception. The latter are almost impossible to find via google, so maybe someone on this forum can help me out ..

Which one should I get (for a 5G)?

-it works ok, dosnt sound good.
-hard to find open space on the fm dial to use this thing
-get a transmitter that can work over the full range of the fm dial

i have a 4g ipod and use the griffin itrip. small form factor, no wires, cheap. sound quality is alright, but i guess it really depends what you're looking for. some fuzz here and there, goes crazy right before my cell phone goes off. it works well enough in the suburbs but once you go into urban areas with lots of buildings, interference, etc it starts struggling.

The Kensington Digital FM Transmitter is pretty good, but not great. You will always hear hints of static, depending on FM dial you pick to transmit the signal, the area you are driving in and even the time of the day. I always found that at night, I seem to get more interference and static than during the day. It will definitely get you by, until you decide to get a hardwired Ipod adpter alternative - That's what I'm planning on doing in the near future.

Hope this helps.

What kind of car you have? You can go to www.ipod2car.com They have kits for most cars and you have a direct digital connection.

TO be honest. None of them really work well. The Monster unit is about the best I've heard, but they all still don't work all that well.

Consider a direct plug of some type. Maybe you can get some plug from the changed plug to convert to RCA. If you can find something like that, then I suggest you try this cable. It is currently what I have on my Legacy and it works GREAT.
