Default Ford Iosis

Ford is going to show the new Iosis concept car at the Frankfort Car show next week, man is that one good lookin car!!!! but I have a question about it. It has been said that that car is for the european market. Why not the US also!!! If they could have made that car (minus the gull wing doors and a diffrent interior) to replace the taurus, it would kill absolutly everything on the market right now!! they make some sweet concept cars, but they need to put more into production instead of just letting them go to the junk yard and then design another crappy looking car instead. it just makes me mad!!! sorry for the rant, but I had to say it!!

here is some pics of the Iosis

Yeah, ditch the gull-wings, mebbe suicide style, but where you can open the rear without opening the front, that'd get a lot of people hooked.

Really, I'm impressed.

Just because it was designed in europe, doesn't mean its for the euro-only market. Alot of companies have design studios all over the world. Mazda used to have one in Israel...Porsche used to have one here in Cali, but it closed down. BMW goes through Design Works here in socal and etc....

But to answer your question, the reason we don't often see alot of the euro cars or jap cars here is mainly because of differences in safety and emissions standards...plus sometimes they believe a particular model won't be popular here...ie hatches...and tiny, tiny cars.

Guess what? It looks decent, it might even sell well.

Ok really? Then Ford won't build it.

I agree...I just hope they don't pull a solstice or cross-fire...the concepts having a much higher performance figure (theory) than the actual watered-down production version. Oh well...

I just hope that if ford does decide to build it, that they dont murder it to the point that it doesnt look anything like the concept.

that car looks so good, they have to make it if they want to turn the company around!! and stop making crappy interiors!!!!

Is this a modified RX8?

The Euro. market seems to be much more sensitive to automotive design as most trend leaders do come from this region.

I looks alright...GOTTA drop the gull-wing doors now. Only Lambo (and M-B's old 50s SL) does gull-wings well.

The interior is pretty cool, if a bit cartoonish. But the exterior seems wholly inconsistent with Ford's design direction over the last few years.

I love a bunch of the design elements of the exterior. Now, can Ford gimme a nice, but understated interior?
