ok, you still have not addressed what I was talking about. How many posts are you goin to throw up that have nothing to do with the original point I was disputing?
BTW, a stress crack is not a "fracture," or break. If someone says the landing gear on a plane failed, do you really think they are talking about a stress crack in a support? Or that one of the supporting pieces collapsed, broke clean off, bent, or otherwise resulted in the landing gear not performing its intended function? Maybe you should look up the meaning of "failure" instead of bickering over what a crack is or is not :/

A crack can result in a fracture. They can be the same thing. This isn't complicated.
The moment landing gear "cracks" or "bends" in any way, it "fails". It has passed the point of performing without deformation. It is a failed part.
Period. End of story.

I have to agree with the original poster - my daily driver is a 92' bmw 735 il and I looked at the 500 from ford - sorry but the 500 does not even come close. More safety equipment - yes, and a little bit better gas milage but that is about it ... but we talk about a 14 year old car and btw is still on the 1st engine and transmission, try that with a ford ...

UPDATE: Looks like Ford read my comments in this thread and took them to heart.

Perhaps they'll stick that in the Fusion and give it a moderately competitive motor.

Ford has begun production of a new 3.5-liter, 265-horsepower V-6 engine at its plant in Lima, Ohio, the Associated Press reported.
Ford invested $335 million to modernize the plant. At peak capacity, the plant will make 1,200 engines per day.
The engine will debut in the 2007 Ford Edge and a new Lincoln crossover vehicle.
The new engine has been designed to accommodate advanced technologies, such as gas-electric hybrid capability and direct injection, which lowers emissions by injecting fuel straight into the engine, the story said.
