Never drove the 370z, I didn't like the way it looked when I saw the slalom vid on edmunds, but after having the S2k and miata for the past 7 years... I might be leaning towards a tin top

This thread is silly. Has anybody paid near $34K for an S2K since 2002-3?

You can easily get a new S2K for 30-31k OTD. I'm not sure if you can haggle the 370Z since its so new, but dealerships are desperate to sell cars in this economy...

Buying a new s2, even at discount, is silly, 2007 and 08 low mileage cost so much less.

I haven't driven the 370Z, just sat inside... but the S2000 IS a convertible (which is a plus in my books).

I just wonder how good the Z's shifter is (with all it's newfangled rev matching) compared to the S's legendary shifter/gearbox.

^Rev matching thing is really good I heard, pretty much agreed by everyone.

Shifter/gearbox is still shit. You know what, I don't think you'll ever find a better one than S. We are quite spoiled with ours. Every person who sits in my car thought I have a short shifter.
