Coilovers are for corner-weighting competition cars to improve handling. If you're going to go for a 3.5" drop with no regard for the handling impact, might as well do it the cheap way by just taking a hacksaw to your springs.
I though he was being sarcastic on the 3.5in drop thing?

Agreed. No offense man, but you seem to be modifying it like kids do to their civics.

I like it but I do think it is dropped too low. As far as looks are conscerned it is fine so go for engine mods.

I'm a mostly reformed modder. It's addictive and a lot of fun, but I've come to realize that many factory parts/setups are the way they are for a reason, not to hold back performance.

My lessons learned over the years have led me to a philosophy to spend the $$$ up front for a car you're mostly happy w/ off the showroom floor.

It looks like you're trying to make that CL-S something it wasn't meant to be. Even if a better stock car costs upfront than your plus mods, the total cost of ownership could be cheaper considering resale value.

I was. It's ok, sarcasm doesn't always carry over posting/instant messages as they were intended.

I'm a big fan of those CLs and one with the manual is a rare treat, IMO

I enjoy a clean look (which you pretty much have to my eye), so my suggestion would be to not do the spoiler and to completely shave your emblems. Just make sure you fill any holes if they aren't purely on by adhesive.

I prefer the 17" Si wheels, as I think a bit of sidewall works and will make your life a heck of a lot more pleasant as you drive around...

the drop is a bit extreme for my taste, so I might raise it an inch or so - just so there's essentially no gap (the tucked thing doesnt even look that nice to me, let alone to mention the compromises you run into in terms of handling). THat's a personal preference thing there.

if you have the dough to s/c, might as well - I'm sure that'd be transformative
Thanks for the post this was actually one of the posts that seemed to be honest advice, rather than just random opinions.

And I'm going to raise the car tomorrow because at first I liked driving it at this height, but after messing around with it a bit more I realize now it's FAR too bumpy of a ride for a daily driver. So I'm going to raise the car up about 3/4" front and rear to give it a 1-finger gap all around.

Anyway I'm going to probably just drive it going forward. Because aside from the blower the only other bolt-ons that are left to do are a thermoblock spacer and intake plenums that are supposed to add between 12-16 HP at the wheels doing both. But that's around $750 with installation when the SC is probably around $3-3.5K wtih the high-boost pulley. So $35 for each wheel horsepower gain with the supercharger or $50 per each horsepower for anymore bolt-ons.

Personally, I love the last gen CL & TL's, as a former owner of a '99 TL.

Obviously this car will never be an S, but it is a terrific car nonetheless. FWD great for daily driving, great power out of the 3.2L (both base and S), and plenty of after market support.

If I had that car as a DD, I would NOT have dropped it 3.5 inches and would slap the Si rims back on. I love the Racing Hart rims, but 19"s scare me for daily driving.

My suggestions:
- Si rims back on
- Debadge except for silver A symbol
- Get those other bolt on's like listed
- Supercharge if you really intend to drive for a long time. Comptech S/C is a sweet set up.

Good luck!
