Have to also factor in the cars you're talking about had complete crap automatic transmissions. Stuff like E46 M3, 997 turbos, F360/430, Gallardo etc had awful true slushbox or SMG/single clutch automated manuals. When you get into the better DCT/DSG boxes it seems like more people opt for those than 6MT. Look at the E9X M3, 997.2 probably more DCT cars were sold.

It wasn't the fastest around the track but it was the best road going Porsche in his view because it had the best balance between feel, usable grip, breakaway etc. As a long time Miata owner I really understand this. The S2000 is a car that also really hits those points (though the steering feel was never as good as the early Miatas).

Faster is great.. But a manual 993tt is worth more than a PDK 997.2 turbo. Weird.. (/sarcasm). Numbers sell new cars but the manual is still the preferred choice on the second hand market. Wait until the repair costs come in for dual clutch gearboxes - no one will want to touch them.

That price difference has very little to do with the transmission. In the case of the 993, it's all about that air cooled mass hanging out behind the rear axle.

Dude, just because you can't afford a Maserati doesn't mean you have to label them as "old man" cars.

What a sad little two-dimensional world you live in. You post every great once in a while and it's only to tell me how poor I am, which is about as insightful and accurate as a "yo momma" joke. It's like you're incapable of anything other than justifying the car you drive based on how rich you'll be perceived as for driving it. I make a good enough living that my wife could stop practicing law because we didn't need her income. If that meets your definition of poor, cool story, bro.
