He's not talking about closed course race conditions. He's not talking about top speed capability. He's talking about every-day, work commute, errand running speeds. He's talking about your typical soccer mom yapping on a cellphone in an SUV traveling 125mph. They can barely handle 30mph. So yeah, computer control would be required.

Once the vehicle reaches a predetermined speed, an onboard computer changes the car's aerodynamic profile, using winglets called canards ahead of the front wheels to create lift and reduce friction.

The future is great. I mean we'll always have fun cars that we can drive but just going from the mundane point a to point b, I'd love to sit back and let the car do the work.
