He's not talking about closed course race conditions. He's not talking about top speed capability. He's talking about every-day, work commute, errand running speeds. He's talking about your typical soccer mom yapping on a cellphone in an SUV traveling 125mph. They can barely handle 30mph. So yeah, computer control would be required.

Once the vehicle reaches a predetermined speed, an onboard computer changes the car's aerodynamic profile, using winglets called canards ahead of the front wheels to create lift and reduce friction.
That's all good until a freaking semi cuts you off destroying your airflow.

Unless the computer is fast enough to compensate for turbulence, crosswinds and the like w/o issue.

Ah, but the forward-looking radar sees the semi coming and ...

The future is great. I mean we'll always have fun cars that we can drive but just going from the mundane point a to point b, I'd love to sit back and let the car do the work.

Yea, it must be a mistranslation or miscommunication. Ferrari's F1 cars can go above 200 mph and those cars look like they have total control.

Sure, but they can't negotiate rush-hour traffic to the office at 200mph, I bet. Nor at 125 mph, I'm sure.

The national speed limit will NEVER be 125. EVER. I don't care how good the computer is.

No kidding. Every city government would be bankrupt if that were the case.
