Default Gear Question: Armor Under Riding Jacket

I have a leather Icon riding jacket. It has foam back, forearm, and shoulder padding as well as hard armor in the shoulder and forearm.

I was thinking of pulling the foam out and getting body armor like the Alpinestar Bionic suit. Has anyone done this? Is it fairly comfortable?

Thanks.

Thanks. I don't commute on the bike, it's purely for weekend riding. I will check out that jacket.

The Icon Field Armor Vest has a good back protector.

Can't you insert a back protector into the jacket, and remove the back foam?

I was looking more for a spine protector. I don't think it would fit in the pocket in the jacket as it's a little small (the pocket) and I wanted the protection that goes down to my tail bone.

if you want a spine protector. than your gonna have to wear the spine protector 1st than the jacket. taking out the foam would help and not make your back look so bulky

there are alot of spine protectors to pick from.

Icon Field Armor Vest covers your chest and back. if your rocking a mesh jacket than this would be good since mesh dont offer much chest protection

Dainese got some nice looking ones that look like they offer alot of protection to the tail bone
