It is for your safety. Young people at this age love cool looking cars and love to drive fast, they can't control themselves when they see other fast cars on street especially when people try to race you. By now you should drive something a bit slower but still very decent. My recommendations are Honda Accord sedan or coupe, Acura TSX, Lexus IS300, Acura RSX, Toyota Matrix, Toyota Celica, Mazda 6 i or s, Audi A4 1.8T, or BMW 325i/325Ci. But if you are very mentally mature, then ignore me and go get whatever you like.
I'm sorry, but you can't make assumptions. I'm 18 and I own an '01 S2000(bought when I was 15), an '03 Tundra, and an '04 STi. I paid for these cars and I have zero tickets, zero accidents, and I don't street race! I take my cars to the track when I want to go fast. On the road, the fastest I've taken my STi is 80, and that was in a 75 zone. I can understand that you may think because he is young, he's an idiot, but I take pride that I am a good driver. Please don't assume and respect his choice in cars whether he can drive them or not. You did make some ammends my mentioning that if he was mentally mature to ignore you, but don't tell him off except for one line. I don't mean to flame, but please respect the young S2K owners that are mature enough to handle this car.

Back to the topic, the S2000 is the most fun of those cars, but I'd get the STi if it is your only car.

hey man, i'm a senior at UMD. you may have seen my sebring/red around. i would take the s2000 all day over those other cars. They may be slightly faster, but the S feels as close to an exotic as you can get and is basically just perfect in every way. You will love the convertible 8 months a year here, it really is gorgeous all year except late nov to mid march. Also the other cars are ugly.

Who are these venture capitalist kids buying $30K+ cars themselves before they turn 18? Did they start a software company? My hat is off to them, its simply amazing.

Sorry to get off topic. Get the S2000. Its in a different league from the Evo and STi.

get the s2k, I have an S2k in college (Junior), my best friend has one too, it is simply an amzing machine to drive and is absolutely incredible to have in college. My friend and I however, do know our limits and respect what we have. If money isn't the issue, get the S2k, and work up to your milits and you'll be more than fine. Have fun.

Well, test drove and EVO....man it's quik but YUKKKK..the interior is horrible...it's like a babysitter car...a car you would taxi people in!!!the only real bragging rights it has is its handles and its speed.....the STi.....not my type.......lexis is300....still an option.......but there's a new player....1993-1998 supra......targa top..I have a friend who might let go his 1998 twin turbo 6 speed TT with 40k miles to me for 28k........we'll see...if not...definately the s2k....
