Default Glass differences between cars..

On a lot of the newer Mercedes and BMWs the windows have a strange purple/greenish hue to them. Is this factory tinting or just lighting effects due the type of glass?

It doesn't seem to show up in pictures anywhere near as much as in person but everytime I see a newer S class the windscreen looks green and the rear windows seem to have a strange reflective look..

Mercedes at least tints the windows. Luxury packages get green tints, sport packages get blue, I think - its one way or the other.

I've seen Merc with blue but never noticed the green. Nice observation, Saki.

Green is much more subtle.

All cars have temp tint. Germans usually use blue and the Japanese usually use green.

Heat reflecting glass is an option on some Mercedes.
