GMA T33
Look I know most of you grumps want a cheap new S2000 replacement
Keep hoping
At the other end of the spectrum is the T33 (spyder for you open top fans)
Small, light, three pedals,
Did I mention Cosworth V12 that revs to 11K?
OK so nobody can afford it and it's sold out anyway.
Here are some prototypes out playing in the cold

If I were a multi-millionaire, I'd have a ton of S2000s and a GMR T.50. It's insane that even with a stock car, the interior noise levels are at 90 dB which can cause hearing loss with prolonged exposure over the course of a couple of hours. That's as loud as my J's racing exhaust. I wear earplugs when I drive my car without the exhaust silencer. Insane. I want one so bad. SO bad. The T.33 looks cool but I want the fan and the central seating position.
I am old and fat and the T50 is for slim and ninble folks.
The T33 is more of an S2000 like car.
The T50 iis seen as connected to the F1 so the prices are already going big for the fan cars.
One recently went for $5.63 million.

Please tell me how GMA could do a $50K car (even if he used off the shelf motor and tranny, his engineering and materials costs have to be obscene)
Plus the T50 and T33 are done in the way GM envisions building cars now based on his decades of experience
The only thing I would change is getting someone to style them (not his strongest skill)

I don't know, but it sure seemed feasible IMO. Replicating something Lotus did with the Elise but better seems pretty easy given the horrific mismanagement Lotus is famous for. I'm just stating what was very well under way at GMA pre-COVID. But I would saw that I imagine it would involve relying on experience from Murray's super cheap and small people mover and also most likely an off the shelf engine from a larger manufacturer.

Ironically at the time of that article the main reason stated was the EV movement, which isn't quite what it was then (to put it lightly).
The mid-engine machine sounded like every enthusiast's fantasy: A mid-engine layout, a 215-hp turbocharged engine, a manual transmission, a curb weight under 1873 pounds, and a base price under $50,000

The sins I'd be willing to commit for a T50.
I'm definitely not rich enough to be able to afford cars like these, but I absolutely adore these cars, love the GMA's ethos.
My only concern though is how with a redline like that, how do I get out of first gear.
