Didn't you have have thread about car purchase suggestions on making $6000/mo after taxes?

Get both.

Thanks for the link. but after reading that forum for a while I found that it's like from october 2009. I just wish VW said it's coming or not instead of making people guess and speculate..

it all sounds great but I'm preparing for the sticker shock, I'm going to guess $38k.

i wish it comes out around 35k.
How's the VW reliability? and how effective is the haldex system?
is it 100% FWD under normal dry conditions?

Haldex is a very complex system. It factors in speed, throttle, slip, wheel speeds(yaw), etc.
It sometimes operates as a FWD, but very rarely. For example, STRAIGHT highway cruising @ 80mph. but that's about it.

I know it wouldn't make much sense, that's just what the STI/EVO X Limiteds are going for...

True. And I'm guessing the higher price tags are why we aren't seeing that many of 'em compared to the older STis/Evo8,9s.
High performance AWD econo(?) sedans were attractive mainly because of the $/hp or performance, and IMO I think it's becoming less attractive than before.
Besides, the R is not a hardcore performance sedan as the STi/EVO. That's probably why it appeals to a slightly different demographic.

No, no, I never said the car is capable of being compared to an STI/EVO because it can't. VAG (for some reason) has always used those two as pricepoints (reasoning to overprice it out the ying-yang).
