I personally don't like the look, but the review says it's all there. I dont understand how they made 3800+ lbs nimble, though.

nimble is quite subjective IMHO, my old Evo felt "nimble" due to the steering, and now my GC8 is 450 lbs lighter and made me realize how heavy the Evo was...the most apparent feeling of weight is when you're trying to get the car to take off from a stop, but i guess the GTR has enough low end torque (3.8L) to make that a non-issue
and this quote from the article:
"If anything, the Turbo reminds us how much we like to do the shifting ourselves. The GT-R's dual-clutch setup is certainly faster and more efficient, but there's no substitute for the mechanical feel and driver involvement of a true manual linkage."
i shall wait patiently for nissan to come out with a stout 6spd manual gearbox

Cars this fast usually don't come in with that option for reliability and safety issues, cuz there's a chance for mistakes to be made when the g forces are high. Imagine somebody coming to a turn and downshifts but rev matches wrong. AWD tires chirp and the car spins out.
The 911 Turbo and GTx (which ever one was the turbo version) comes with a standard shift. I believe Lamborghini also offers standard shifts. Why is this any different than missing a shift in any number of other cars under similar circumstances. More likely Nissan wanted to get at least one version of the car out so they got the "techno" version out first (assuming they are doing a real stick shift as well).

Sounds like a very positive review.
My doubts are not with the performance or the comfort or daily drivability (etc..) but with the availibility and reliability and the Nissan factor which is unknown at this time. (I mean when the Z came out the net heated up with problem on top of problem, I don't want to be a test rat for future GTR owners)
Both the GTR and M3 interest me the M3 should be more roomie (also will have a 4-door availible for stealth as well as more useable rear seats).

Ummm how do you think racecar drivers have gotten along up until recently?
You push the shifter up to downshift and pull it down to upshift.
So you cant go from 6th gear to 2nd gear w/o going through 5th, 4th, and 3rd first.
