Think of the tranny as that of a sport bike. you have a clutch, but don't need to use it for super quick up shifts. Idk if he needs to use it for down shifts.
My understanding is that most forms of racing trannies use this type of setup.

Like most WRC rally cars the handle in the middle of the car is the hand brake that automatically releases when you let go. The center differential releases the rear wheels when you pull on the e-brake to stop the car from stalling, but still powers the front wheels to pull the car around hairpin turns. The clutch pedal, while there, is optional. You can use it but it is really only necessary from a stop. He is using it to "clutch kick" like drifters to create extra wheel speed and continue the slide or in some cases, over dramatize it. The paddles behind the wheel do all the shifting.
This is one bad Fiesta and a great video, thanks for posting.

I love the ford. I liked the ealier subbys a little more, but that fiesta looks nice as well.
video is awesome, but he seems a little sloppier in these (his back end hits the rail, he cuts corners (in a bad way) sometimes. Some of the drifting is ...I don't know how to put it, He comes around the corner really slow and spins the tires a lot more (I know that sounds dumb, I don't know how to expain it though)
