Hands down the worst auto design changes....
I would also say the Taurus. Not because the super oval was really that bad but because it was such an important car. Plenty of updates have lost what made the original good be it styling, performance, etc. The problem is basically none (in recent times) ever sold as well as the Taurus. Really, the '86 car was quite a ground breaker for Ford and as a trend leader for so many companies selling cars in the US. Unfortunately Ford tried to relive that styling success but failed. It didn't help that the new car was only good but not great.

The new "Bangle" BMW's. I loved the 01-06 M3's but don't dig the new ones.
The VW Beetle. I love the classic styling of the older cars but the "new" Beetle is just blah.
Agree on the MR2 Spyder, the older MR2's are very nice, new ones, not so much.
Also agree that the Mustang II's were pretty horrible

I disagree with the E series. I would put 2nd and 3rd gen DSM instead. The 1st gen DSM were iconic IMHO. The rest are pathetic. 3.8l V6 in sports coupe and it is still boring and slow. Otherwise you list is spot on.
