Hard cold start
It was freezing this morning when I got of of my place heading for my final exam. When I hop into my car and try to fire the engine up, it took rediculously long to the engine to start. Usually, it's just a click, but this morning it was like 3~4 secs. And when I look at the dash, it said 3F.
Is this common on cold start like this? (maybe its only on hondas & acuras? cos my gf's beetle start right up the sec you fire the enigne)
Does it hurt the engine?

It could be a variety of things, and the cold can be a one of many factors. I wouldn't invest too much into if it isn't a recurring thing, but checking your battery could be a start.

It saids 5 years warranty on the battery. I'm thinking will changing to low weight of oil help cold starts?

Stay consistent with the weight of oil. Check the cold cranking amps on the battery. It might be fine coming out of the factory day one but over time with seasonal temperature changes the battery and its plates wear out. It's been 4 years almost... How much longevity do you expect if the temperature is 3 degrees outside?

Went to autozone, and they said my battery is at the edge of good. And the guy there suggest me to change to yellow top battery. Is this a good brand of battery?Does it worth the money or the Walmart battery will do about the same performance?

I have the red top optima in my corvette, I think the yellow is deep cycle or more needed for a car with a bunch of stereo and video.
I don't know if they are any better than normal batteries, but they cost more and it does spin up my high compression 454 if it is hot or cold. If the battery was in the cabin like my 1970 vette I'd say get it (they are either dry or gel and safer I think), but under the hood, I'd rather just get it a normal battery tested every year and replace when weak especially if I were on a budget like most college students.
good luck during finals week.
