That looks like it would be an easy bike to ride (for a cruiser) - not too raked out, reasonable control placement, and sized right.

Disclaimer: I've ridden a few Harleys, but I'm by no means an expert on them.

I would recommend buying the bigger bikes instead since most people who buy sporster end up buying the bigger ones.

One thing that I STRONGLY recommend is buying some XIED's for the o2 sensors to help you to cool the bike down. Those bikes are known to heat up alot even more than the older versions since they run lean due to some EPA regulations. I have had the XIED's on my 08 fatboy, it made it run stronger with less heat. You can research the subject from this link http://www.hdforums.com/m_2836828/tm.htm.

Oh and one thing!! Get the engine guards first!

yes, dyna or anything bigger. From what I have seen alot of sportser owners end up selling it within 5-6 months to get a bigger bike.

Have you seen the Fat Bob? It really looks great & is a little cheaper than softails.

Yes there are people who move up to a big twin after riding a sportster for a while. I will have a touring bike someday too, but I will never be without a sporty, Wanabe, I say get what you really want in the long run. Yes the bikes are heavy and have bigger motors but with respect and care of that you could be fine on a fat bob or whatever bike you want.

There are a lot of great riders out there that can ride a big bike really well in the turns, but they are made for cruising. The sportster is what the name says, it cruises moderately well but can handles the turns wayyyyy better than the big bikes.

i say think about comfort and what you really want out of a bike, are you someone who would respect a bigger bike and your mortality? Besides dirt bikes my first street bike was a triumph speed triple that was so much fun, but in the beginning it scared the shit out of me. Im not trying to talk down or disrespect you, but get the bike you really really are going to want. That said, if you get a big twin my sporty will run circles around you but my ass will hurt while you are comfy on 400 mile days....hahaha Good luck with the search bro
