Default Hatchbacks: which is best?

Recently I have been looking for a civic hatchback for a daily driver , to spare my new S the abuse that 500 miles a week has to offer. But I am having trouble deciding which hatchback is the best. I am real neutral on looks, just looking for everyones input.

Thanks!

Mainly Performance and Economy. I would think that at this point economy might be the thing i look closer too , seeing as I'm looking for something generally more practical than the S2000 as a daily driver. I am also looking to get one for cheap to save the most money so I can put it towards S2000 mods. But if I just happen to buy a hatch that is modded or engine swapped already all the better. Which is why I'm also curious about their performance.

I'm in love with the EG

I do love how much glass there is on the EG, and the Spoon EG6 is one of my favorite tuned hondas, but the EK is a little larger. Other then that I don't know how much they differ

EG is lighter and the EK doesn't offer a significant performance upgrade with its added (not much) weight. Most people prefer the EK because of the looks and added size, otherwise the EG is the the way to go. For me, which ever one I could find a good deal on a clean one and in this regard it'll like be an EK.
