Default Help

I am a long time S2000 owner, I like Honda and have bought several over the years. My daughter bought her first car, a new Civic. When she got it home the tranny was leaking fluid. Actually it was pouring out. Dealer told her to drive it back (about 10-12 miles) It ran out of fluid long before she got there. I am meeting with the service manager this morning. I have 2 questions: (1) is the transmission screwed? and (2) should I make them give her another new Civic?

1. It may not be "screwed", but it is very likely that it has irreparable damage.
2. I doubt they'll give her a new car (but why not try), but you shouldn't settle for less than a new transmission.

The onus was mostly on their part to suggest and pay for a flatbed tow. Part of the onus also lies with owner for seeing how dumb it was to suggest to drive the car back. If you are a lawyer as your name might suggest, you probably know more about this than I.
