HELP! over-rev CEL
i was doing some spirited driving around my area (SF) when i over-rev my rsx making a long uphill right. when i shifted it felt like my fuel cut off(just like when u over rev) but only it cut off at 4000 rpm and thats when my check engine light came on. scared as **** i tried to drive normally but i noticed i couldnt go past 4000 rpm anymore.
after a long break at the top of the hill the CEL was still on but when i started driving again the car would act normal again. no idle problems no sounds. but the CEL is still on. what should i do? should i bring it to the dealers?

Get a shop that has a obd2 scan tool (most likely a dealer since the scan tools for the 2002+ models are still pretty pricey)
that should give you a good idea as to what went on.. more than likely if you over-revved you probably bent some exhaust valves and your CEL code is something having to do with a random misfire somewhere, you might need some valves and a valve job to correct the problem.. or it could be something else but typically thats the first thing to go.. look at this as a time to upgrade!
remember the glass is half full..

Not being able to rev past 4k RPMs probably means your car was running in limp mode. Did it also feel kind of jumpy when driving, like it'd jerk you back and fourth when just cruising straight?
Was the "cutoff" when you were accelerating or after you shifted? Did you let the engine warm up before revving higher?
S2000 engine has a fuel cutoff at 5000 or 6000RPM when the engine is below a certain temperature. This may be what you experienced.
