Mechanical over rev CEL and vibration
I have a problem with my honda due to a mechanical over rev, but I can't seem to figure out the real issue.
I shifted from 3rd to 2nd at 90mph (ouch). Now my CEL is flashing, and I've got a P1399 Code for misfire. I replaced the spark plugs, and had a mechanic look at the valves. He said they were fine, and switched my ignition coils around, because I had a code for a misfiring 4th cyl. The car ran well for about 2 hours, then the CEL started flashing again. I was reading the thread about damaged valve stems/spring/roller problems, but I didn't see anything that related to my error code. Now I'm not getting a specific code for a specific cylinder. Should I let it run to see if I have a bad coil, or could this cause damage? Any ideas? I'm thinking about taking the valve cover off to get a better look at everything. But any suggestions would be really appreciated!
