Professor SP1s are made by SSR (Speed Star Racing)

and Meister S1s are made by Work Wheels.

SP1s seem to have a flatter face for their spokes while Meister S1s curve outward. The SP1s three piece design looks different in terms of the attachment of the bolts compare to the Meister S1. The Meister S1 has the bolts go all the way around the rim, while the SP1 has 5 bolts (depending on rim size) for each corner. Both have a really good selection of sizes and offsets, BUT I believe now that tirerack has exclusive rights on the Professor SP1. They are not bringing in the larger sizes with lower offsets (below +30) that were once available through the SSR distributor. If a tirerack rep wants to clear this up, please do so as I heard this through another distributor. So aesthetics wise, yes quite similar, but there is a difference. Work wheels has a larger selection from wider width rims, extreme range of offsets, and option of one, two, or 3 piece models to choose from.

Usually the one piece are lighter since they're smaller sizes and usually much cheaper. The two piece and 3 piece look different, but both can achieve that polished lip. Take a look at http://www.work-wheels.co.jp/wheels/index/index.html for sizes and the wheels. Seems like the 1P isn't available anymore and 17" only comes in the 2 piece version.

BTW, I think the Work wheels have forged center sections. I don't think the Professors are...
