Default Removing my diff. and need help:

Hey guys,

I'm yanking my diff Sat. so I can send it to hardtop guy for some 4.57s and the comptech housing. I've never done this myself before.

Are there any special tools or anything that I should be sure to have before starting the de-install process?

Anything special I need to do?

Help will be GREATLY appreciated!

xviper has a good writeup, however.. in addition to that, some extra tips:

- loosen the driveshaft and axle bolts first (MARK THEM, I used White-Out), in case there's a problem. one of my driveshaft bolts was very stuck, so i had to use an impact gun. it's very easy to strip those bolts as well.

- the diff is heavy.. I used a jack to lower it and move it out from under the car.

- easier to remove/install if you unbolt the 2 front mounts from both the car (2 bolts on each) and the diff assembly to get them completely out of the way. Gives you more room to move the diff around.

good luck,
