A Philly story will be developing as well.

Personally the fact Honda service is unwilling to help, that corporate is knowingly unwilling to help, and that customer service end to end is spitting on the faces of these customers is ... so not Honda.

<personal rant>
Having had my lemon fight with Nissan i know their pain.

This is also the primary reason why I didn't buy an Si, and instead went for a MazdaSpeed3.

Just couldn't see myself in another Lemon law case, i was so exhausted with the previous.

I have 2008 Civic Si and I don't have the 3rd gear problem... Yet. :Cross Fingers: I heard that it was fixed for 2008 so we will see.

That sucks, I have always been let down by the durability of honda transmission. The main reason i chose the STI over the evo was the trans and clutch.

my '07 Si Sedan was grinding third, when cold in the morning, at about 500 miles. I put in Amsoil Synthetic MTF and haven't had any problems since. Many others have done the same.

If the dealership can't replicate, I'd be powershifting the transmission until it was about to fall out and then I would take it in for them to fix it.

A lot of Type S's had the same issues. My friend is on his 3rd master cylinder and Honda has opened up his transmission and replaced the 5th/6th synchros which didn't help whatsoever.

I ended up getting him to get a new aftermarket master cylinder and there is a significant improvement. I think that may have a lot to do with it. It's almost impossible to differentiate between a hydraulic fluid issue and an internal transmission issue.

What is funny is that the only thing I know of that was built in Japan on the car is the damn transmission.
