The engine is Honda's. In fact, the plane was built just as a test platform for the engine. However, Honda later decided to offer the entire plane for sale. Probably this is because of the new Very Light Jet rules that have gone into effect. There are a whole lot of new small private jets about to hit the market as bizjets and air taxis. For most people they are still too expensive to be private recreational planes.

"Boing"?

I work for Boeing.

Buy two, they're small.

So will it have a "Born from cars!" advertising campaign?

Cool

As part of Honda's entry into aviation they also entered into an agreement with Piper, the general aviation aircraft maker, where Piper will provide suuport for the Honda jet and Honda will share technology with Piper.

This could bring badly needed innovation to the general aviation market and hopefully help get another generation in the cockpit.

My two favorite toys are my S2000 and my Piper Arrow and I can't wait to see the results of these two fine companies getting together. Now if I can just find a way to fatten the wallet enough to afford it......javascript:emoticon('')

^ HAHA! Good point! We don't have a Plane Talk forum!!!

Does look sweet, doesn't it. The way they've anchored the engines above the wing, though, looks a little precarious to me. It's probably just gonna take some getting used to.

Wings&Wheels, I didn't hear anything about the Piper connection. Do you have a link to a news item somewhere about that?
