Good read.
Ferrari is suppose to be pretty shady to deal with - particularly when it comes to "getting in" and buying their cars.
Its of no interest to me anyhow - I doubt they care what I'd do with the one I really want - an F355 GTS.

Nothing the author said would surprise me. As much as I want to lust after Ferrari's I can't stand the marketing hype that goes with then. A part of a car shouldn't be more special because that part says Ferrari. However, I've had someone proudly show me his Ferrari watch. What does Ferrari know about watches?

just because it's 30K for a wind shield and there still stories floating around about empty vodka bottles in the door frames and you can'nt drive the car anywhere with road clearance, price of gas, maintenance and the fear of devaluing it more in one day than some peoples homes are worth.
doesnt make it a bad car.
As anyone who has a ducatti knows it Italian deal with it.

As cool as they are, no manual is a non-starter for me - if you are going to have a toy, shouldn't it be fun to play with? Then again, I'm not tracking it...
At any rate, good read. I've read this before - very much a pecking order with Ferrari, and they can afford it, so many people want the cars as status symbols.

Interesting read. Thanks for sharing.
Although I'm sure most manufacturer-invited comparison tests are manipulated in some way, I don't think it's that extensive like the what Chris states.
That's cheating!
So the point is, Ferrari cheats in every mag tests to achieve the best results.
But their cars are still so good.

^it's all about what you're used to or grew up with.
If DCT had been invented first, the manual would never catch on because it is slower, requires using your left leg, and no one would consider it more fun. It's only fun because you had to learn how to do it when you were a kid.
Manuals are like the PowerGlove...requires a lot more involvement on the part of the player, yields inferior results and by the time you're 40, no one under the age of 20 has any f'ing idea what you're talking about.
