All its going to take if for some maniac to buy some flashing lights at Wal-mart. Sooner or later people are going to stop pulling over.

Well, you shouldn't pull over unless you can find a well-lit spot =with people nearby. If its a real cop, more cars will join the chase, then you know its safe to pull over!

what about big time drug traffickers? Can't wait for a day when an Benz SL AMG or a Bentley lights up like a Christmas tree to pull a person over.

...I was there when the confiscated all of those cars... Charlotte/Meck PD is already crazy enough... already about half of their cars (or more) are undercover...

Couldn't agree more. They made cop cars look like cop cars for a reason. Apparently someone forgot that.

They only place I would ever pull over for a UC car is infront of a police station, or in the presense of another police officer.

As to the originial topic, it'll be a cold day in hell when the government steals my legally acquired property. I am opposed catagorically to eminent domain laws, and this falls under that category. They only time I can see the confiscation of someone's property as justified is if the property was accquired illegally. Otherwise, it's a clear violation of one of the three natural rights.

So the cop claims to that its very clear that the Cobra is a cop car because of the lights , well I would put that Cobra to its paces if he tried to pull me over in that crap.

I'm paranoid, here is South Florida there has being cases were people pretend to be cops then they pull people over and at gun point take their stuff.

Reporter: And if you're worried about someone putting blue light on their car and impersonating a police officer, police say, "just look for the lights".

Cop: These cars have lights in the grill, lights above the headlight. [ ? ] light in the back, da da something blah da, should make totally clear it's a police car.

Okay....so, what about someone that goes to Walmart and purchases colored lights, and then puts said lights "in the grill, above the headlights, and in the back"?

cars like that are 100% ok in my book. --for operations other than routine traffic citations!!!

drug deals, pursuits that started with running from a normal cop, chasing/catching felons and bank robbers, etc etc that's fine. but sitting in the Arby's parking lot after dark waiting to pull over speeders, that's not what undercover cops are for!
