why wouldn't you have one... sorry, but if you are on the streets, you should have your license. Period.

Or at least a valid permit.

Here in PA, you can only get a permit like ince or twice after that you MUST get your license and no more permits will be issued.

I have taken the MSF course twice now. The second time was along side my wife for moral support and as a refresher for me.

I got my first bike before passing my test, or even having any lessons.

Took it out a couple of times until I ended up being followed by a Police motorbike for a few miles.

I turned off, he didn't follow (fortunately) and I went home.

The bike stayed put until I had done my test!!

Close one.

I only rode w/o one while waiting for my MSF class, which I scheduled as soon as I bought my first street bike. I wouldn't want to ride w/ anyone w/o one, b/c they prob. don't have proper training either.

They should issue a sticker for your license or for the back of your helmet if you pass each of the MSF courses.

Not a bad idea except that some of us have several helmets and/or change them every few years. And some states still allow no-helmet.

How about RFID license transponder? That might work. A cop gets near you and can 'detect' your driver's license. Big Brother is coming!

I realize that going no-helmet is allowed in some states (PA? I saw quite a few the other day without helmets), but really.....of all the stupid things possible to do on a moving vehicle, that just about takes the cake.

No way I would ride without a helmet. Don't care if I don't have to.... still wearing it.

I rode for ten years without a helmet. But I agree, I was young and dumb as a box of rocks.
