How many of you drive with the windows down?
Several years ago I dated this girl in college that would blast the A/C with the windows down. I automatically thought it was wasteful but never discussed it. It was her SUV and her money so I really didn't care. Over the years I've ridden with a few people that do the same thing. I personally have never done it. Keep in mind that I live in FL and its freaking HOT and humid 85% of the year. We love our A/C down here.
On the other hand I've got a buddy that NEVER drives with the window down. I mean EVER. He read somewhere that the wind buffering is really bad for your ears. I find that pretty funny. He doesn't even drive a convertible.
Anyway, how many of you drive with the windows down and the A/C on?

Not me, I find it incredibly stupid and wasteful. I have heard of people riding with the top down and a/c on, which seems equally as stupid to me. I do notice some people do it, but most have the common sense to put up the windows w/ the a/c on. The thing I've noticed is that some people seem to leave the a/c on in the winter time. Don't ask me why, perhaps just lazy?
I do like windows down w/ the heat on at times (but that is not the same as having the a/c on).

A girl I know does this quite often. Having the wind in your hair and the top down is awesome, but the heat isn't always. Good thing some cars have AC ventilation through the seats which were designed for use with the top down!
I drove down to San Diego a couple of time when I had my AP1 with the top down (7 hour drive). I had a Borla exhaust, it was fun, but damn were my ears ringing.

I think I figured out how I average 27-28mpg in the S. Most of you guys are driving around with the top down and the A/C on! Divas!! jk jk. If its too hot out my top does not go down. It's as simple as that.
Even if its not hot out my top is rarely down. :-( I forget I drive a convertible. It's like a whole new experience for me when I drop it. And on top of that I prefer to put it down at night. I'm a weirdo, I know.

I've done top down and a/c on a couple of times. Not often though.
I could understand driving with a/c on and windows down when you first turn it on. I have heard (and I cant say it's true or not) that it's more efficient to have the windows down so the A/C can "push" the hot air OUT of the car rather than trying to cool down a sealed car *at first*.
