What would you have me drive then being on an S2000 forum driving a Honda?
Obviously you should have a Porsche Boxster, Mercedes SLK, or a BMW Z4, because they have fancy badges.

Being a badge whore doesn't mean you are a german lover only...

hyundai has a modest goal of selling 3,000 Equus cars in its first year. it'll probably have a decent lease deal too

That sounds about right. The U.S. market is NOT ready for a $55K Hyundai yet; maybe in the future but not now. Lexus didn't earn the best-selling status overnight either; took them over a decade with continual reputation of quality and reliability. If Hyundai does the same, then it'll succeed in the luxury market too.

The only roadsters made by the "oooohh, look at the badge" brands are German. In this case, Porsche, BMW and Mercedes. The other contenders are Mazda, and the died-way-too-young Kappa platform cars from Pontiac and Saturn.

50 grand Hyundai - I just can't stop laughing at that !! I think I will ask these folks that buy this car if they want to buy a 100 grand Honda Civic to go with it!
Seriously though the Genesis coupe and that new Sonata look great and those two make me think these guys are going to be a force to be reckoned with .

...and who owns Lamborghini?

Just messing with you. Agreed, though. Most manufacturers are putting LEDs on, now. Played out.

I still can't see someone is about to part $60k, sitting on a hard plastic chair at the dealership, signing papers for this car.

A nice car, but most of the Hyundai dealerships still look like dumps.
