what i hate a lot is the last min lane changers. they wait til very last sec to change multiple lanes to get on turning lanes or try to exit from highways. it's fine if there are no traffic so you can actually do that these people usually have to stop in the middle of the traffic and wait til someone lets him into turning lane. i guess people causing traffic is the most annoying drivers ever.

i actually like the driving in NY much better than anywhere else in the US that ive driven. (Northeast, Southeast, Southwest).

Last minute lane changes; etc don't bother me. That just how driving is inside NYC, especially manhattan. What pisses me off is the 55ers in the left lane on the highway. People driving 15-20 mph inside manhattan b.c they can't handle city driving; etc. People who can't freaking merge onto a highway properly... Oh and out of towners are even worse when they drive in NYC

Thats why i don't take any of my nice cars for my Daily commute. Your DD in NYC will get beat up like crazy. My GTI after 2 years of commuting on and off looks like shit. Small scratches and dents everywhere.

If they just made a law that you could shoot anyone on sight doing makeup, eating a greasy burger, using a phone, reading a newspaper, clipping their toenails (yes I've seen it) while driving that should take care of 99% of the problems.

Sadly I feel like I drive worse when there are worse people near me. Mostly I speed up and drive a little more aggressive to get past the traffic. once it opens up I naturally slow down without realizing it.

I'm from Pennsylvania/DE so i feel like they are the least offensive.
NJ people (central/south) actually use the left lane for passing only, no where else is it used for that.
OR/WA when i visited my gf was bad - people all cruise next to each other doing under the limit on the highway, and are timid as hell.
I just moved to NC where the turn signal does not exist, and the left lane is for the slow people and the right lane is always open. And there are tons of people who are completely oblivious to the speed limit and will just sit next to someone on the highway because they don know whats going on around them. Furthermore, in DE its illegal to use a phone/text, and when i got here i figured that law wasnt around yet - until i tested for my license at teh DMV, its the same law, just no one gives a rats ass lol.

I'm no angel, but I feel like I drive better than most because I remain alert to the people/cars around me and just flat out know whats going on. I also feel like I pay more attention because I have a smaller car that is harder for others to see.

I was driving along and looked at the car next to me and saw a lady reading a book while driving. Not even a magazine or a newspaper, a freaking BOOK! And this was on a busy highway with a 50mph speed limit. SMH. I made sure i was behind her the whole time until she got off the road.

Yes, let's off random people late for work, starving, responding to an emergency via phone, or passing time at a long stop light. Instead of...oh I don't know...enacting the death penalty in all states and fast-tracking executions thereby saving taxpayers.

Just my humble ramblings.

None of those things you mentioned have anything to do with driving. They can all wait when you're stationary and not in a place to put other people's lives in danger from your inattentiveness. I have actually seen people driving down a freeway at 70 mph doing all of the above not having a care in the world. A 4,000 pound SUV is just as much a weapon as a handgun.
