Default Interior Blogging Website

So I've been thinking about doing this for quite some time with my experience in the trim industry, as well since I work at a trim shop. My idea is to create a website, in blog format, that really gets down deep into what it takes to create the "right" interior for a vehicle. We consider an interior to be an art form, whether it be what we do and create custom interiors, or an OEM interior from a manufacturer. Our belief, as a shop, is that the interior creates your experience with a vehicle, as that's where you spend most of your time so it needs to be the best, for you, the owner.

The idea would be to review OEM interiors for all new model vehicles as I could get my hands on them as well as travel around to check out as many custom interiors as I could.

I know that various publications already review interiors as part of reviewing the car as a whole, but this idea would be to really delve deep into what it takes to craft an interior and make it the "right" one both for the prospective owner of the vehicle, as well as for the car itself. We would also look at materials, stitching, patterns, trends, etc.

My question to this automotive community is, as automotive enthusiasts, would you guys want to check out a website solely dedicated to automotive interiors, and all that they entail?

If you think it's stupid or whatever, let me know, but let me know why. I really don't want this to turn into flaming without an explanation as I'm extremely serious about doing this, since it's our passion for this that drives our shop.

It wouldnt be a bad idea. I would like to see ideas for custom work, ranging from basic things (seat covers, door panels, etc..) all the way up to custom fiberglass, painting, and complete interiors redo's. Also, some good tips and ideas on maintaining it, product reviews, and etc... You can have reviews of different types of material, costs, maintencance, and fixing of it.

You would need a section for customer cars and things like that. Since u work at a trim shop, have the shop sponsor you and the site, like provide discounts for work done if you are a member

How about I drive my 2011 5.0 up there and you guys can do a demonstation on it example, do some CF overlay/wrap on parts and show how to install things and pricing for it, and before and afters

Sounds like a good idea. If the website is done right it'd work - particularly if you can showcase new/unique stuff. A good camera is a MUST.

I personally think it would be a great idea. I have seen a lot of car reviews and they don't say much about the interiors except for "its very comfortable and has leather seats", which has nothing to do with the design, quality, and uniqueness (if thats even a word ) of the interior.

I think it would be very helpful and useful for potential car buyers, as well as people looking into a custom interior to get thoughts and ideas about materials, stitch patterns and colors, and even quality of the different kind of materials. I would look forward to seeing your website.

Internet marketing is the new marketing. A website/blog is always a good idea combined with other social networking platforms like YouTwitFace. In fact, if you don't have an online presence, you may as well not exist.

The best part is, its free for the most part. I'd suggest WordPress or Drupal for an easy content management/search engine/social network friendly website platform.

I know exactly how I'm going to do it but I appreciate the advice none the less. The biggest questions/concerns are if people would actually visit the site and contribute their insights and ideas.

There would be an incredible amount of time needed to do this but obviously I would start small and go from there. I'd have to operate with what I have available to me, and hopefully, as the site continued to succeed, things would change.

That would be up to you. Getting people to interact on your website is a skill in itself. Polls, questions, requesting feedback, contests, etc. Build it properly and they will come. There's interest online for everything– the trick is getting people involved.
