Default Just a Question

Today i saw a lancer evo VI (i think)...it was the previous evo not the new one.... Driving around with the steering wheel on the right side . It had florida plates but i didnt think it was allowed on the streets specially here in new york. Well my question is: is it possible to get a japanese car registered here in the us?

Ohh and by the way once i was heading down to the track (Race Way Park) and he was towing it down there. BTW he did mid 13's if i/'m not mistaken.

Ohh and another thing if anyone has an idea...how much will the evo's cost when they bring them over to the states....next year i think?(correct me if im wrong)...thanks for the info if any....

As long as the car has been DOT approved and has a proper title, you can be on the road in NY. Ever notice those really old classics that people rent for weddings? They are right-hand drive also. But it's going to be hard to pass emissions though. The Evo is coming to the states soon, it might be better to wait for the U.S. version first. But I think the US version will be detuned.

According to C&D, U.S. Lancers will make around 250 hp, JDM around the usual 276, which I hear is a big lie anyway. U.S. models will have a smaller intercooler. I think they will cost around $30k. I heard actually getting a car DOT approved is really hard though... like it has to pass crash tests and stuff. Bill Gates wanted a Porsche 959 so he bought 2 at a mil each and let them crash test one but I think they wouldn't approve it for some reason...whatever, I don't remember the specifics on that one. The new Lancer is sorta ugly, dontcha think?
