Default Last generation Prelude

Any major cons about the car. The model is question is a 2001. My brother is buying it for my nephew. We found one for around $9,000 with about 65,000 miles. I don't understand why this car takes premium, though.

Biggest con I can think of is that you can get a newer Civic Si for the money?

For 9k I can find RSX-S's for the same money with maybe 10-20k more miles on them.

I always bring up this topic:

RSX-S > Prelude SH > GSR > Base Prelude

prelude's stock suspension is a terrible thing. old interior. do not get 97-98. they also had tranny problems. 99+ is better. btw, dont buy auto tranny prelude. overall, pretty reliable and low cost maintenance car. worst part is expensive insurance on that slow old ass.

rsx s has tranny problem. 2nd & 3rd gear grind, pop out. 02-04 tailights leak water.

i dont know why both rsx and prelude hold their value. those owners are happy on it.

A 2006 Civic SI is more than 9k...more like 15K...

I owned a '98 SH and had absolutely NO problem with the tranny or anything else. Stock suspension was compliant and smooth, not firm and jarring. The car was pretty roomy and comfortable. The tranny was smooth and direct and VERY easy to shift, though not as short-thrown as the S2000's, but much smoother than the S. Loved it!

Unless you've actually owned one, don't talk out of your ass. Oh, I see that you owned a '00 model, but still, false assertions.

one person had no problem, and then it means all other people wont have problems?

TSB speaks the truth instead of raising a bs flag with 1 sample.

i had a 01, i had to completely replace the transmission, but other than that it ran flawless. I'd say its biggest negative is its weight, its a pretty heavy car for a 2 door.

Yes rsx-s have major tranny issues. I learned to drive with my right hand on shifter until my clutch is fully disengaged n it does pop out n grind sometimes. Yes it is very annoying
